Affiliation

As a member of the Fredericksburg Area Builders Association, you automatically become a member of the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) and the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV). NAHB represents nearly 200,000 firms across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

Committee Involvement

There are more than 15 active committees where you can increase your association visibility and take better advantage of networking opportunities.

Through the work of our charitable foundation, there are many opportunities available to serve the community and citizens in need of assistance.

Educational Opportunities

Ongoing education of our members is of critical importance. There are regularly scheduled seminars dealing with current trends and topics, as well as special courses available for advance studies in construction and building code compliance, remodeling, sales and marketing.

We maintain a large collection of both technical and non-technical information, some available on computer disk, accessible to both members and the general public.

Marketing Events

Several opportunities are available each year to present your products and services to a targeted audience. Some examples are the semi-annual Home & Garden Show as well as the Parade of Homes, during which the homes are open to the public free of charge.

Monthly Membership Meetings

Our membership gathers monthly. This is an excellent networking opportunity.

Political Action Committee

A committee reviews and evaluates making financial contributions to local candidates for public office who endorse our belief in the free enterprise system and effect legislation to advance the building industry.

Publications

We publish a monthly newsletter, an annual directory and quarterly tabloids to keep members informed and provide additional advertising and marketing opportunities. We also publish guidebook products that track with our major marketing events.

Social Events

Aside from the many professional benefits of membership, there are continuous opportunities for family fun and relaxed socializing such as golf tournaments and an annual Fall Festival (formerly Crab Feast).
