Home Building Industry Donates Masks to Local Medical Professionals

Fredericksburg, Virginia – March 26, 2020 — The Fredericksburg Area Builders Association (FABA) reached out to their members in the construction industry this week asking for help protecting those on the local front lines fighting the coronavirus pandemic. Builders FirstSource, Chatham Construction, Atlantic Builders, and others immediately answered the call.

FABA members have already donated over 650 protective masks to the N95 Mask Collection Drive. “These donations will be put to good use by those fighting the virus and to reduce its spread,” according to Maria Moore, Executive Officer of the Fredericksburg Area Builders Association.

The N95 masks will be delivered to Mary Washington Hospital, Stafford County first responders, Rappahannock Area Health District/Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and Spotsylvania Medical Center today and tomorrow (March 26 and 27, 2020), by members of the association. Additional masks donated by members will be delivered as they are collected.

FABA asks that anyone who has protective equipment in their inventory, equipment stock, or even in their own home workshops to donate any, and all, unused N95 masks to our local medical professionals and emergency personnel.  The Association can accept any other PPE (gowns, caps, face shields, eye protection, etc.) to donate to healthcare providers.

Any local citizens — individuals, companies or organizations — who would like to donate these items to help in the local fight against the coronavirus, contact FABA at (540) 898-2730 or the local office of the VDH at (540) 899-4797 for more information.

FABA represents builders, developers, building trade professionals, and many other local businesses who provide goods and services to support the building industry in the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, King George, Orange, Spotsylvania and Stafford.
