Fredericksburg, VA — The Fredericksburg Area Builders Association (FABA) proudly announces the winners of the 2017 Steigleder Family Scholarship. Youn Hee Oh from Stafford Senior High School and Lindsay Pett from Chancellor High School will each receive $6,650 toward their first year at the University of Richmond. FABA congratulates these exceptional students and all of the local graduating class of 2017.
The Steigleder Family Scholarship Fund, administered by FABA, was created in 1998 by H.R. Steigleder, FABA Life Director, community leader and local builder from Bowling Green to serve the higher education needs of young people from the Fredericksburg area. Applications for grants are screened each spring and awards are made on the basis of demonstrated academic and extra-curricular ability, involvement and potential. Recipients are not limited to a particular field of study and students attending University of Richmond may apply for the scholarship every year they attend the University.
The Fredericksburg Area Builders Association, chartered in 1968 and incorporated in 1980, has hundreds of builder and associate members. These members represent thousands of people whose livelihoods are directly tied to the building and building-related industries. A tax-exempt trade association, FABA is affiliated with the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
