Meet the newest member of the FABA team – Sean Miller

Fredericksburg Area Builders Association Welcomes Sean Miller as Director of Government Affairs

Fredericksburg, VA – August 13th, 2024 – The Fredericksburg Area Builders Association (FABA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Miller as its new Director of Government Affairs. In this pivotal role, Sean will advocate for FABA and its members at local government meetings, lobbying for policies, plans, and legislation that impact the local building industry. Additionally, he will oversee FABA’s political action committee, which is dedicated to supporting political candidates who champion a healthy building environment.

Sean Miller brings a robust background in legislative affairs to this role, with a total of three years of experience working for Representative Claudia Tenney (NY-22) and several lobbying firms in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. His legislative expertise in real estate, short-term rentals, and construction is underscored by his work on behalf of prominent clients, including the Associated Builders and Contractors, the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, and the Solano Association of Realtors.

“Sean’s extensive experience in legislative advocacy and his deep understanding of the real estate and construction sectors make him a valuable addition to our team,” said Maria Moore, Executive Officer of FABA. “We are confident that his skills and insights will greatly benefit our members and advance our mission of fostering a supportive building environment.”

Sean holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and law from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY. His appointment aligns with FABA’s commitment to strengthening its advocacy efforts and ensuring that the voices of local builders and developers are heard.

The Fredericksburg Area Builders Association (FABA), chartered in 1968 and incorporated in 1980 has hundreds of members both builders and associates. These members represent thousands of people whose livelihoods are directly tied to the building and building-related industries. FABA, a tax-exempt trade association, is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV). With its main purpose to create and maintain a favorable climate for the growth and development of the building industry, the Fredericksburg Area Builders Association seeks to develop and maintain high professional business standards with the ultimate goal of providing home ownership to all individuals and families in our area. Centrally located between Washington, D.C., the nation’s capital, and Richmond, Virginia, the state capital, FABA serves the historic City of Fredericksburg, VA area including the surrounding counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George, Caroline, Culpeper and Orange.
